Our Mission
The University of Chicago China Care is a chapter of the national China Care Foundation. Founded in 2000 by Matt Dalio, China Care is "dedicated to saving the lives of medically fragile orphaned children in China and committed to empowering young people to use their abilities and creativity to help improve the lives of children in need" (China Care Foundation). In order to fulfill this mission, we fundraise throughout the year to fund medical treatments for the orphans in the China Care Foundation. Since UChicago China Care's founding in 2006, we have raised enough money to treat four children. This year, we are further committing our promise to our community by beginning a Little Dumplings Playgroup and Mentorship Program.
